MYTH: Granite is way
too expensive.
Granite is actually affordable for most budgets. Much of the

MYTH: Granite
doesn’t last very long.
Thanks to the way granite is formed, it is incredibly durable
and long-lasting. Your new granite countertops could last for several decades.
MYTH: Granite has a
lot of tiny pores that can harbor bacteria and germs.
Granite
is non-porous, which means it will not harbor bacteria or germs. If you are
concerned, you can use a very mild disinfecting soap on them. But there is no
need to use a disinfectant on a regular basis.
MYTH: Granite
stains easily.
While
spills should be wiped up as soon as possible after they happen, granite is
actually quite difficult to stain. And if the counters do get stained, the
stains are usually very easy to remove. Granite counters do not lose their
polished look that easily either. Normal use will not remove the polished
finish, even after many years.
MYTH: Granite needs
to be resealed every year or two.
Depending
on the type of granite you purchase, your granite counters might never need to
be resealed. All of the granite that we fabricate will be sealed as part of the
fabrication process.
If
you are ever worried that your granite counters need to be resealed, there is a
simple test you can do. Simply place a drop of water on the counters. Does the
water bead up? Then your granite counters do not need to be resealed.
